First Day on the Job

Greetings!
Today marks the beginning of what I hope will be a fruitful blogging venture. I am determined to write something every day since it is my desire to polish my craft and tune up my skills.
I am the author of one self-published book - "The Mystery of Ghost Dancer Ranch," the first book in a series of Christian children's mystery stories. I also have several other books completed or in the works and will be writing more about them soon. Here's a bit of info about "The Adventures of Punkin and Boo" series, and about me.

The Mystery of Ghost Dancer Ranch

Against their wishes, cousins Jacie Masters, (Punkin), and Hannah Roberts, (Boo), are thrown together for the summer at their grandparents’ Ghost Dancer Ranch. What starts as a very boring summer turns dangerous when they find themselves in the middle of an insidious plot to steal the ranch and turn it into a Casino. By clinging to their faith, and with the help of a guardian angel and a young Native American man who hopes to lead his people back to prosperity and power through the resurrection of the Ghost Dancer Religion, Punkin and Boo overcome all obstacles to solve the mystery and save the ranch.

The Mystery of Ghost Dancer Ranch is the first book in an adventure series for older children, teens and young adults, and sets forth spiritual values using the historical background of the Ghost Dancer rebellion of the late 1800’s. The setting is a beautiful old ranch on 1500 acres in Petaluma that was built on the ruins of a Spanish Mission, with secret passages and hidden treasure, both material and spiritual. Like Franklin W. Dixon’s Hardy Boy Mysteries, this book is action-packed and like Frank Peretti’s novels, it includes angelic and demonic forces that battle over the outcome. At 27,000+ words, it makes for a quick and easy read, and leaves young readers wanting more of The Adventures of Punkin and Boo. The second book in the series is being edited and I have written the first five chapters of the third book.

I have an extensive background as a writer, both through my school years, where, as a journalism major, I edited High School and College newspapers, and also as a professional, published songwriter who has written with and for such artists as Bill Champlin, David Jenkins (Pablo Cruise), Buddy Miles, Tazmanian Devils, and many others. Since 1988 I have served as a teaching pastor and worship leader in several churches throughout the Northern California Bay Area, and have written and self-published teaching materials for use in seminars, retreats and conferences. One of my books, Music: A Gift to The Worshipping Church, was edited and forwarded by Dr. Judson Cornwall in 1992.

That's all for today.
Blessings

Patrick
